Purchased as an empty shell in January 2005, the Church Street restaurant was purpose built over a period of six months. The restaurant marked Balbir’s return to the West End of Glasgow after a period of absence.

Opening almost immediately to rave reviews from all the major food critics, it didn’t take long for the restaurant to reinstate the ‘Balbirs’ brand as one of the more prominent names in the Scottish Indian dining scene.

Located just of Byres road (opposite the Western Infirmary), the restaurant is situated within easy walking distance of the west end social hub and is ideal for catering to both large parties and more intimate tables.

Balbir’s is the first and possibly the only Indian restaurant in Scotland to have obtained both the ‘Healthy Living’ award and the ‘Eat Safe’ food certificate from the UK governments Food Standards agency.
