The lighter, more casual dining concept was first adopted by Balbir in the early 1990’s the form of
the ‘Ali Baba’s Balti Bar’ – a student targeted restaurant in the heart of the city centre.
The newly opened Tiffin rooms’ has taken things a step further. Though prices are very attractive,
all of the usual Balbir’s signature dishes such as the Salmon, chana Bhatura & bhel poori are
available and the same standard as in our other restaurants.
Tiffin, is an old concept of light eating at mid afternoon, which came popular within India during the
period of the British Raj. Today it is still referred to light meals or snacks that can be eaten at lunch
or any time during the day.
Tiffin rooms should be used as a ‘local’ where you can meet people over a cup of tea/coffee, small
snacks or a glass of wine. Alternatively the choice of a more elaborate multi course meal is always
available as well as a choice of 4-5 alternating specials (of the menu).
The restaurant itself can accommodate around 130 customers and consists of two distinctive
dinning areas |
